The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevenson connects with a body shot.
Elliott on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Sloppy strikes from Stevenson. Those never looked like landing.
Stevenson lands with a cross.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stevenson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Stevenson looks to land a combination but Elliott avoids it well.
Stevenson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Elliott needs to keep his hands up - Stevenson had a free shot at his head there.

Elliott gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Stevenson counters with a nice right hand that sends Elliott toppling to the canvas! Elliott scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Stevenson finish him?!

Elliott is rocked!
Elliott is breathing heavily.
Stevenson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Elliott takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Oh Elliott is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Stevenson cracks Elliott with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Stevenson has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Elliott to stand back up!

Elliott misses with a takedown attempt - Stevenson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Stevenson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Elliott was well out of range. Poor timing from Stevenson.
Stevenson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stevenson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Stevenson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Elliott at a distance.

Stevenson cracks Elliott with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Stevenson has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Elliott to stand back up!

Stevenson tries to sprawl but Elliott drives through with a takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stevenson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Elliott thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Elliott winds up and cracks Stevenson with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Stevenson has his hands clasped together around Elliott's back. He's all about the action.
Stevenson tries to roll over but Elliott keeps him under control.
