PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh James Jordan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harold Shipman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jordan comes to the cage accompanied by Angst. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Josh James Jordan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Harold Shipman!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jordan looks to score with a jab to the body but Shipman is just out of range.
Horrible takedown by Jordan or perhaps it was just good defense by Shipman which made him look bad.
Nice body kick there by Jordan.
Jordan tries to clinch up but Shipman circles away and keeps his distance.
Jordan misses with a head kick.
Jordan doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Shipman counters with a shoot takedown. Jordan fights it but they end up in guard.
Jordan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Shipman is one step ahead there.

Jordan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shipman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Jordan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Shipman stands up and waves to Jordan to follow him.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Shipman dives in and scores a takedown into Jordan's guard.
Shipman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Shipman postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Shipman stands up and waves to Jordan to follow him.
Shipman slaps away a takedown attempt from Jordan, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh James Jordan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jordan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Jordan avoids the head kick by Shipman.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Shipman shoots in and bounces Jordan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Shipman gets to his feet - Jordan follows without any prompting.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jordan buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Shipman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jordan tries to avoid it but Shipman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jordan to the ground. Jordan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jordan dodges the punch combination from Shipman.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Jordan.

Shipman clinches up against the cage.

Shipman breaks from the clinch.
Shipman swats away the attempt to clinch by Jordan.
Some wild striking there from Shipman.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Nice sprawl there from Jordan as Shipman shoots in.
Shipman looks winded!

Shipman closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jordan quickly recovers to half guard.
Jordan is trying to get back to full guard.
Shipman passes to full mount!
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jordan is trying desperately to improve position.

Shipman has hold of Jordan's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jordan manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harold Shipman dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Shipman blocks a head kick by Jordan.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jordan looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jordan doesn't manage to clinch there - Shipman circles away.
Jordan fails to land the takedown.
Shipman misses with a straight left.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shipman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Jordan throws a push kick but Shipman slaps the foot to one side.
Shipman fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Shipman darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Jordan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shipman on the ground.
Shipman is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jordan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shipman pulls his head out easily.
Shipman with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Shipman stops Jordan from getting back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shipman looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Shipman slows the pace down in half guard.
Let's hope that Shipman has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Harold Shipman.
Nice body kick there by Jordan.
Shipman shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jordan shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Shipman controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Jordan is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Shipman is looking to control Jordan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shipman avoid being mounted?

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shipman is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jordan's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jordan's back!
Shipman controls the position.

Shipman has got one arm under Jordan's chin. This could be trouble... Jordan trying to control the other hand but Shipman gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Jordan has tapped out! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Harold Shipman!
