Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Owidiusz Sknerski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sknerski has chosen Rammstein-Feuer Frei! as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nick Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Owidiusz Sknerski!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Sergei Dronov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz looks to throw the jab but Sknerski is out of range.
A nice leg kick lands there from Sknerski.
Sknerski moves out of range as Diaz strikes.
Diaz cracks Sknerski with an open hand slap.
Sknerski is looking to slow Diaz down with leg kicks.
Diaz misses with a straight right.
Sknerski feints and then cracks Diaz's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Diaz down.
Diaz misses with a hook
and Sknerski counters with a nice low kick that buckles Diaz's knee momentarily.
Diaz walks into a straight right hand from Sknerski.
Sknerski throws a head kick that half lands.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Diaz lands a lovely overhand right.
Sknerski moves away from the strike by Diaz.

Diaz throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sknerski sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Sknerski cracks Diaz with a good jab.

Diaz throws a looping overhand right but Sknerski ducks down to avoid it.
Sknerski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Diaz is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sknerski.

Diaz is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Sknerski thows a body kick. Diaz tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Sknerski throws a quick inside leg kick.
Diaz thows a body shot but no joy.
Sknerski misses with a head kick.
Sknerski lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Diaz misses with a straight left.

Nick Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Diaz tries to bum rush Sknerski with a series of wild strikes but Sknerski uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Sknerski connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Diaz throws a poor cross that misses
and Sknerski counters with a nice uppercut.

and Sknerski counters with a leg kick.
Diaz has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Diaz there as he acknowledges the shot.
Sknerski connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

letting Sknerski counter with a right hand.
Sknerski's jab looks to have found its range, popping Diaz under the eye.
Sknerski is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Diaz had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Diaz on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sknerski. Sknerski obviously looking to wear him down.
Sknerski cracks Diaz with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sknerski, as that shot connected.

Oh Diaz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sknerski has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Sknerski there as he acknowledges the shot.
Diaz seems to have got his legs back now.
Diaz throws the left hand but Sknerski avoids the punch easily.
Crunch! Sknerski slams his shin into Diaz's torso.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Diaz takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Diaz throws a jab when Sknerski was well out of range.
Sknerski lands the left hand.
Sknerski lands a leg kick that knocks Diaz off balance momentarily.
Sknerski uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Diaz.
Diaz tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Diaz throws a lazy uppercut
and Sknerski counters with an inside leg kick.
Sknerski feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Diaz's calf.
Sknerski throws a nice inside leg kick.
Sknerski tries to move into range but Diaz moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Sknerski throws a nice outside leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Sknerski counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Sknerski counters with a good, hard body kick but Diaz shrugs it off.

Diaz swings widly with a right hand
and Sknerski counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Sknerski lands with a nice body kick.
Diaz takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
A decent looking body kick lands there for Sknerski.
Sknerski thumps Diaz with a low kick.
Sknerski fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Diaz has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Sknerski lands a big head kick that sends Diaz tumbling to the mat! Sknerski takes a step backwards and waves Diaz back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Sknerski jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Sknerski thumps Diaz with a low kick.
Nice body kick there by Sknerski.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Sknerski lands a head kick. Diaz smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Owidiusz Sknerski dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Sknerski lets loose with a powerful body kick. Diaz will feel that in the morning.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Sknerski. Diaz shrugs it off though.
Sknerski throws a front kick that sends Diaz stumbling back into the cage.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
