Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wilfredo Requina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rank Rox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rox throws a body punch but Requina moves out of range.
Rank Rox seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rox swings widly with a right hand
and Requina counters with a right hand to the body.
Rox doesn't manage to clinch there - Requina circles away.
Rox scores with the left hand. Requina knows he should have avoided that one.
Rox throws a leg kick but Requina sees it coming and moves out of range.
Rox is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Requina.
Rox tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rox throws a head kick that misses
and Requina counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Rox thinking.
Rox takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Requina ducks under a wild hook from Rox.
Requina lands a nice shot that snaps Rox's head back.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rox fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Requina has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Rox.
Rox misses with a low kick.
Requina fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Rox throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Requina stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Requina takes one on the button.
Rox throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Rox avoids a punch combination nicely.
Rox throws a right and a left that Requina avoids nicely.
Rox missing with a left hand there. Requina was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Rox lands a jab to the nose.

A big right from Rox misses.
That kick from Rox tenderised Requina's leg. Requina is trying to keep his angry face on.
Requina circles away from the clinch attempt.
Requina scoring well with a low kick there.
The fighters circle momentarily. Requina darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Requina finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Requina takes one to the side of the head.
Requina uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rox.
Rox tries to clinch but Requina moves out of range.
Requina steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rox.

A looping hook to the body misses from Rox. Requina does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rox rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Requina counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Rox tries to clinch up but Requina circles away and keeps his distance.
Rox lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Rox lands the left hand.
Rox avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Rox fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rox lands a jab to the nose.
Requina takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rox misses with a straight right.

Requina takes a swing at Rox's ribcage but misses.
Requina avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Rox tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Requina paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rox wants to clinch up but Requina keeps it at a distance.
Requina swats away the attempt to clinch by Rox.
Rox misses with a right hand
and Requina counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Rox thinking.
A solid body kick from Requina.

Rox clinches up against the cage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Requina fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Requina breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rox fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Requina manages to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rank Rox dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Rox tries to close the distance and clinch up but Requina swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rox scores with a nice head shot.
Rox cracks Requina on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Requina falls backwards against the cage. Rox follows up with more strikes that drop Requina to his knees. Rox keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Requina! This one is all over!

After winning the bout, Rank Rox thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
