Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andreas Petersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andreas Petersen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Petersen lands with a slapping head kick.


It looks like Joe Johnson has been cut.
Petersen misses with a takedown attempt - Johnson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Petersen doesn't manage to clinch there - Johnson circles away.
No luck for Johnson with that takedown attempt.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Petersen, right into the meat.
Johnson throws a jab but it's blocked by Petersen.
Johnson slaps away a takedown attempt from Petersen, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Joe Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Johnson scores with a punch to the head.
Johnson misses with a wild combination.
Johnson misses with a hook. Petersen ducked under it nicely.

Johnson misses with a looping right.
Johnson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Johnson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Petersen's waist but Petersen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Johnson off to one side.

Johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Petersen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Petersen keeps working.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Petersen tries to improve position but can't.
Petersen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Johnson wants to control but Petersen is keeping him busy.
I wouldn't like to be where Petersen is right now.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Petersen fails with a takedown attempt.
Johnson misses with an uppercut. Petersen saw that one coming.

Petersen clinches with his opponent.
Johnson pushes Petersen back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Petersen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Petersen throws a nice head kick!
Johnson feints a jab promting Petersen to slip. Johnson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Petersen slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
A combination from Petersen does no damage.
Petersen is breathing heavily.
A jab from Johnson misses.
Petersen fails to land the takedown.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt - Petersen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Johnson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Petersen on the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sloppy strikes from Johnson. Those never looked like landing.

A jab lands there for Johnson.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnson keeps the fight on the outside.

Johnson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Petersen doesn't seem bothered though.

and Petersen counters by moving into the clinch.
Johnson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Petersen has him pressed against the cage.
Petersen gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Johnson.
A nice left hand lands by Johnson.

Petersen has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Johnson after a bit of a struggle.
Johnson is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Johnson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Petersen avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

and Johnson counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

A looping hook to the body misses from Johnson. Petersen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Johnson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Petersen avoids it really well and circles away.
Andreas Petersen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Johnson.

Johnson loads up on a big right hand but Petersen slips the punch.
Johnson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Johnson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Petersen closes the distance but Johnson moves to the side
and Petersen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Petersen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Johnson circles away quickly and effectively.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Johnson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Johnson throws a series of punches but Petersen avoids them all with ease.

Petersen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Petersen defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Johnson.

and Petersen counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Petersen drags the fight down to the ground.
Petersen throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Petersen pulls Johnson in close to prevent any damage.
Petersen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close second round but I would say that Andreas Petersen will probably get the nod.

That's time! Petersen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Johnson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Petersen shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Petersen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Johnson takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Petersen moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Johnson is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Petersen's shoulder. That is not cool.

Petersen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Petersen there as he acknowledges the shot.

Johnson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Petersen.
Petersen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Petersen closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Johnson lands a glancing blow to the side of Petersen's head.
Petersen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Petersen tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Petersen counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Johnson is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Joe Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Johnson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
