Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bryan Williams!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez avoids it really well and circles away.

Sanchez has managed to clinch.

Sanchez breaks from the clinch.
Williams shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A nice leg kick lands there from Sanchez.

Sanchez closes the distance and clinches.
Sanchez lands a knee to the head.

Sanchez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Williams enables Sanchez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Williams manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Sanchez is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Williams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sanchez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Joe Sanchez just wasn't active enough.

Sanchez throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Williams is trying to force a seperation but Sanchez has the dominant position.

Sanchez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Williams tries for a takedown but Sanchez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Joe Sanchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bryan Williams.
Sanchez doesn't manage to clinch there - Williams circles away.
Sanchez defending well as Williams loads up on a big left hand.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Williams.

Sanchez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Williams did well to prevent Sanchez getting side control.
Sanchez is taking a breather. Williams says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Sanchez's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Joe Sanchez has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Williams fails with the takedown.
Sanchez is looking to clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sanchez leaves Williams with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sanchez has closed the distance and engaged Williams in a clinch.

Sanchez throws a combination. Williams tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Williams gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Sanchez stays in close to Williams's body and controls the position.

Williams is breathing heavily.

Sanchez tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Sanchez stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Williams circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sanchez is looking to clinch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Williams takes an elbow to the temple.
Williams looking to stall.
Sanchez lands an elbow just above Williams 's eye.

Sanchez manages to break the clinch.

and Sanchez counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Williams!

Williams should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Sanchez advances to full mount.
Joe Sanchez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Sanchez has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Williams's face.

Sanchez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Williams on his heels. He'll look to pass Williams's guard now, I'm sure.
Sanchez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Sanchez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Sanchez makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Sanchez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Williams takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sanchez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Williams defends it well.

Sanchez frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Sanchez lands a big shot there that rocks Williams but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Sanchez gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Williams lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Sanchez throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Williams tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sanchez is in Williams's guard.

Sanchez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Sanchez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Williams can do to turn this around?
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Williams has momentary wrist control but Sanchez slips an elbow through the middle.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Joe Sanchez.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
