Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serdyuk cracks Yaya with a right hand to the side of the head.
Serdyuk throws a leg kick that is checked
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Serdyuk thows a body shot but no joy.
Levko Serdyuk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Serdyuk fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Yaya avoids it really well and circles away.
Serdyuk throws a hook but Yaya blocks it.
Yaya's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Serdyuk connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Yaya scrambles back to his feet.

Yaya stuffs the takedown attempt from Serdyuk. Serdyuk gets slowly back to his feet.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Yaya checks a leg kick.
Yaya scores with a nice body kick.

Serdyuk closes the distance and clinches.

Yaya comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Serdyuk jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Yaya walks away with a smile on his face. Serdyuk gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Yaya lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Yaya connects with a nasty looking knee right to Serdyuk's face.
Yaya putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Serdyuk in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Serdyuk takes an elbow to the forehead.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Yaya obliges.

Oh Serdyuk is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Yaya connects with a massive knee from the clinch and Serdyuk goes down! Yaya jumps into full mount looking to finish!

Levko Serdyuk's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Serdyuk tries to hold on but Yaya pushes him away.

Taj Yaya has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Serdyuk has taken the fight to the clinch.

Yaya has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head and Serdyuk goes down! Yaya dives on top of him - Serdyuk manages to get guard.

Jeez, Levko Serdyuk's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Serdyuk on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Serdyuk tries to get out of the position.
Serdyuk is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Yaya dives into side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Serdyuk is looking to regain half guard here but Yaya keeps moving and retains side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Taj Yaya dominated that round.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Serdyuk looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Yaya!
An elbow from Serdyuk crashes against the mat.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Serdyuk throws an elbow but Yaya slips to the side and avoids it well.
Serdyuk wants to stand but Yaya has his arm trapped.
Yaya is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Serdyuk missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Serdyuk thows a huge punch but Yaya dodges it nicely.

Serdyuk thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Yaya is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Serdyuk's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Serdyuk's back!
Serdyuk tries to roll but Yaya sticks to his back.
Yaya keeps control of the position easily here as Serdyuk tries to buck him off.
Serdyuk wants to get back to his feet.

Yaya really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Serdyuk.
Serdyuk controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Yaya not allowing Serdyuk to control his hands.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Serdyuk shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Yaya as he avoids it easily.
Taj Yaya is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Yaya closes the distance and pushes Serdyuk back into the cage.
Yaya lands a knee to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Yaya.
Yaya lands a damaging elbow.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Levko Serdyuk's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

After the fight, Taj Yaya was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
