PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Zbigniew Mlotek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Luciano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mlotek kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Prodigy - Their Law. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksandr Martynov and Illya Tyunina.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luciano misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mlotek.
Luciano blocks a head kick by Mlotek.
Mlotek tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Luciano was well out of range. Poor timing from Mlotek.

Mlotek throws a jab but it's blocked by Luciano.
Luciano avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Mlotek takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Luciano shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mlotek as he jumps to the side.
Mlotek throws a hook but Luciano avoids it easily.

Luciano closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mlotek's guard.
Mlotek throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Mlotek is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Luciano tries to free his leg and advance position but Mlotek is retaining full guard.

Mlotek escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Luciano gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mlotek bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Luciano's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mlotek accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Luciano throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Luciano closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mlotek's guard.
Mlotek can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Luciano controls the pace.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mlotek is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Luciano defends well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
