Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Takehiko Takaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amun Ra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Takaki comes to the ring accompanied by Mahavishnu Orchestra - Meeting Of The Spirits. Takehiko Takaki has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Takehiko Takaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Amun Ra!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takaki throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Ra's head.

Takaki instigates a clinch.
Takaki has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ra avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Takaki is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ra is controlling him.

Takaki pushes Ra off and scrambles back to his feet.

Ra shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Takaki sprawls well. Takaki wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ra gets slowly back to his feet.

Ra fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Takaki sprawls well initially but Ra persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Amun Ra showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!


Takaki fails with an attempt to clinch.
Takehiko Takaki is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Takaki fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ra avoids it really well and circles away.
Takaki tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Ra loads up on a big right hand but Takaki slips the punch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Takaki connects with a leg kick. Ra looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Takaki has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ra finds it's way round the side to connect with Takaki's head.
Takaki avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ra misses with an uppercut
and Takaki counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Takaki shoots in looking for a takedown but Ra manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Takaki's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Ra drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ra is putting a hurting on Takaki here, landing some big shots from side control.
Takaki is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ra connects with a decent elbow.

Takaki is refusing to be controlled, as Ra sits in half guard.
Takaki is trying to stand up here but Ra is controlling him well.
Ra has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Takaki works to full guard.
Ra makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Takaki wanted to stand there but Ra had control of the position.
Takaki is fighting to break Ra's control of his arms but Ra is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Ra looking for a sweep. Not yet Ra, not yet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ra swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Amun Ra is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Ra avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Takaki misses with a double jab.

Ra shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Takaki's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ra accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
