The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Germain tries to bum rush Johnson with a series of wild strikes but Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Germain on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Johnson scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
No joy there for Germain, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The crowd cheers as Johnson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Germain doesn't seem phased though.
Germain uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Johnson.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Germain enables Johnson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Germain manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Germain has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Johnson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Johnson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Germain seems to have recovered his senses.

Johnson postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Germain badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Johnson around the waist but Johnson pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Johnson is the winner by TKO! Johnson jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
