PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ruiner Barnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnett comes to the cage accompanied by canceled forever 125. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 25 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ruiner Barnett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean Stone!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone throws a body kick that misses
and Barnett counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Sean Stone has been cut.
Stone finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Stone thows a leg kick but Barnett checks it
and Stone takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Stone tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A telegraphed right hand from Stone misses the target.
Barnett pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Stone tries to land a leg kick but Barnett saw it coming and moves away.
A slapping leg kick lands for Stone.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stone scores with a head kick.
Barnett throws a leg kick but Stone sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Stone misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Barnett moves out of range of the leg kick from Stone.
Stone uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Barnett.
Stone moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Barnett ducks right into an uppercut from Stone.

Stone closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Barnett's guard.
Stone is fighting to break Barnett's control of his arms but Barnett is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Barnett is looking for a triangle but Stone pushes his legs off easily.

Barnett utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stone throwing strikes from guard but Barnett blocks nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stone accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Stone throws an elbow that misses. Barnett uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Stone's guard. Nice move by Barnett!

Stone looking for a guillotine here but Barnett defends easily.

Barnett has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Stone can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Barnett controls the pace.

Stone working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barnett doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barnett manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Barnett not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Stone has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Barnett can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Barnett's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Sean Stone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stone slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

and Barnett counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Stone throws a wild body kick that Barnett sees coming a mile off.
The crowd cheers as Barnett lands an impressive looking overhand right. Stone doesn't seem phased though.
Barnett misses with a jab, cross combination.
Stone throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Barnett is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

A decent looking body kick lands there for Stone.
Barnett is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Stone shoots for a double leg takedown but Barnett sprawls well. He's pushed Stone's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Barnett counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Barnett moves out of range of the body kick from Stone.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stone is breathing heavily.
Stone tries to score a power double leg takedown but Barnett sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Stone somewhat.
Ruiner Barnett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sean Stone.
Stone takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.


That has opened up Sean Stone's cut even more.

Barnett tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Stone lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Barnett changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Barnett throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Stone tumbling to the canvas!

Barnett controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Stone is trying to control the position but Barnett postures up.
Barnett slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Barnett wants to control from the top but Stone keeps moving.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Ruiner Barnett has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Stone throws a leg kick
and Barnett counters with a nice uppercut.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Stone throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

and Barnett makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Stone throws an overhand right that lands on Barnett's shoulder, as Barnett tries to avoid the shot.
Stone doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Stone uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Barnett.
Barnett checks a low kick from Stone.
Stone misses with a low kick.
Stone takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Stone misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Barnett.

Barnett lands an overhand right.
Stone will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Barnett sizes up Stone with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Stone throws a leg kick that is checked

and Barnett counters with a big uppercut that knocks Stone off his feet! Barnett dives into side control looking to finish!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stone on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Stone is still in real trouble! Can Barnett finish him?
Barnett wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stone keeps working.
Stone is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Barnett is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Barnett is landing with some decent strikes but Stone is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Stone wants to hold on but Barnett pushes him away.
Barnett lands a nice shot to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee warns Stone that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Stone really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Stone takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Barnett's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ruiner Barnett!
After the fight, Ruiner Barnett was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
