Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Ordenez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joao Acosta!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ordenez has a takedown stuffed.
Acosta looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Ordenez clinches up with Acosta and pushes him back against the cage.

Ordenez has picked Acosta up - he's going for a ride! Ordenez dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Ordenez is pressing down on Acosta's thigh, looking to free his foot. Acosta is holding on for now.
Acosta controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Acosta should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Acosta is looking to control Ordenez's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Acosta avoid being mounted?

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Joao Acosta wasn't active enough on the ground.
A nice combination there by Ordenez.
Ordenez throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Ordenez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Acosta holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ordenez is trying to pull guard but Acosta turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Ordenez throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Acosta blocks it with crossed arms.

Acosta's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ricardo Ordenez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ordenez tries to clinch but Acosta is having none of it.
Acosta will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Acosta slips a jab and a cross from Ordenez.
Acosta throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ordenez's waist but Ordenez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Acosta off to one side.
Acosta changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ordenez tries to avoid it but Acosta manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ordenez to the ground. Ordenez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ricardo Ordenez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joao Acosta.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ordenez is looking to clinch.
Acosta throws a sloppy head kick and Ordenez moves out of range easily.

Ordenez looks to land a combination but Acosta avoids it well.

Acosta closes the distance and clinches.
Acosta prevents a body shot from Ordenez.

Acosta jumps guard.
Acosta keeping full guard, as Ordenez tries to pass.
Acosta lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ordenez!

Acosta looking for a guillotine from mount but Ordenez is having none of it.
Acosta tries to get up but Ordenez was controlling his body and he's reversed into guard.

Acosta keeping moving, preventing Ordenez from controlling successfully.
Ordenez missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Ordenez passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Ordenez advances to full mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Acosta is trying to escape the mount.
Acosta is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Acosta is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ordenez controlling his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Joao Acosta's cut.
That's time! Ordenez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Ordenez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Acosta tries to control but Ordenez manages to take his back.
Ordenez lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Ordenez working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Acosta rolls, trying to escape but Ordenez keeps control of the position.

Acosta is trying to defend against the choke here but Ordenez has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Ordenez Tightens the hold and Acosta taps out furiously! Ordenez displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ricardo Ordenez!
Our winner, Ricardo Ordenez, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
