Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dale Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams comes to the cage accompanied by Whom Shall I Fear. Roger Junior will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dale Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Roger Junior!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams shoots in and drives through. Junior sprawls well.

Williams forces Junior back against the cage and clinches.
Williams is looking for a takedown.
Junior prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dale Williams. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Williams lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Junior gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Williams.

Williams is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Junior pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Junior is trying to pull guard but Williams turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Junior is pressed up against the cage. Williams has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Junior down to the mat. Junior avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Williams lands a head kick. Junior smiles back at him and beckons him forward.


It looks like Roger Junior has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Williams tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Junior paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Williams tries to score a power double leg takedown but Junior sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Williams somewhat.

and Junior counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Williams shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Junior but Junior pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Williams is breathing heavily.
Williams looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Williams has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Junior looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Junior is stalling here. Williams is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Junior seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Williams has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Junior can do anything to dispel that myth.

Williams tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Williams has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Williams throws an elbow but Junior slips to the side and avoids it well.
Junior is looking to reverse the position.

Williams has a closed guard, preventing Junior from standing up.

Junior wants to stand and escape but instead Williams has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Junior keeping moving, preventing Williams from controlling successfully.
Junior utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Williams throws a big elbow that misses.
Williams passes Junior's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Williams is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Junior defends it well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Junior got a little sloppy there for a moment and Williams has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Junior has managed to get both his arms back between Williams's legs - danger averted.
