Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Helio Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Isaac Mena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machado comes into the arena with Mindless Self Indulgence - Bitches blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado moves out of range as Mena throws a body kick.
Mena tries to close the distance and clinch up but Machado swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Machado closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Mena manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Machado has gone for a leg lock! Mena slips out almost immediately though and dives into Machado's guard.
Mena trying to control the position from guard on top but Machado is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Machado has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mena stands up from Machado's guard - Mena perhaps looking for a knockout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Mena breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Mena wants to stand up but Machado is controlling him.

and Machado counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Machado drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mena manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Machado has Mena in his guard.

Machado is working an open guard so Mena takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Machado feints and as Mena raises his hands in defense, Machado changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Machado tries to free his leg and advance position but Mena is retaining full guard.

Machado thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Machado is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Mena has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Machado is proving hard to escape from.

Machado is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Mena rolls with it to try and escape but Machado cranks on the arm and Mena is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
