Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Michael Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian Macdonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ian Macdonald!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Russell Pearce and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter shoots in for a takedown but Macdonald shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Macdonald lands a head kick. Carter smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Macdonald shoots in but Carter avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Macdonald gets caught flat footed, as Carter shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Macdonald controls Carter momentarily but Carter frees himself.

Macdonald working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Carter has passed into half guard!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Macdonald tries to get to full guard but Carter has control of the leg.
Well, if Carter is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Macdonald is looking to improve his position.

Carter stands up and beckons Macdonald to join him on the feet.

Macdonald moves into the clinch.

Macdonald drags the fight down to the ground.
Carter pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Macdonald is keeping the position for now.

Macdonald has his foot on Carter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Carter works his way back into a safe position though.
Carter wants to control from the top but Macdonald keeps moving.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Carter wanted to stand there but Macdonald had control of the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Michael Carter.
No luck for Carter with that takedown attempt.
Macdonald doesn't manage to clinch there - Carter circles away.
Macdonald shoots and misses
and Carter counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Carter tries to land a leg kick but Macdonald saw it coming and moves away.

Macdonald gets the takedown into side control.
The referee asks Macdonald politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Macdonald prefers to stall for the moment though.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Macdonald wants to stand but Carter is controlling his arm.
Carter wants to get back to his feet but Macdonald drags him back down.

Carter is trying to get back to half guard.
Macdonald throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

Macdonald tries for a kimura but Carter is defending well.
Carter looks to move to half guard but instead Macdonald has passed into mount! Damn!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Carter is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ian Macdonald will probably get the nod.
That's time! Carter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Macdonald misses the body punch
and Carter counters with a nice uppercut.

Carter fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Macdonald to the ground. Carter is now in Macdonald's guard.
Macdonald controls Carter momentarily but Carter frees himself.

Macdonald had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Carter defends it easily.
Michael Carter overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Macdonald is trying to hold Carter in close to prevent damage but Carter has managed to pass into half guard.

Carter is pressing down on Macdonald's thigh, looking to free his foot. Macdonald is holding on for now.
Carter is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Carter is keen to just control but Macdonald is a slippery customer.
Carter tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Macdonald.

Carter looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Macdonald is fending him off so far but Carter persists. Nope, Macdonald circles away and we're back to standing.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Carter has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Macdonald after a bit of a struggle.

Macdonald has clasped his hands together around Carter's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Macdonald tries to move to mount but Carter blocks the move with his legs.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Michael Carter will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Carter tries to keep at a distance but Macdonald has taken the fight into the clinch.
Carter is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Macdonald gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Macdonald manages to break the clinch.
Macdonald looks to land a combination but Carter avoids it well.

Carter darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Carter seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Macdonald does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Macdonald takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Macdonald fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carter avoids it really well and circles away.
Michael Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ian Macdonald.
Macdonald throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Macdonald drives through with a takedown into Carter's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

I would just about give that final round to Ian Macdonald.
I think Macdonald has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
