Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Beer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tim King has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Chris Beer's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Beer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tim King!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Steven Brown and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beer connects with an inside leg kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from King.
King shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Beer darts in and clinches King up against the cage.
Beer slows down the pace here.

Beer lands a takedown into guard.

King has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Beer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

King is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Beer advances position into side control!
King wants to control but Beer postures up.

Beer is looking to take a break and control but King is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Beer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Beer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
King wants to control but Beer postures up.

King on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
King manages to work his way to half guard, despite Beer's best efforts.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Beer is taking a breather. King says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Beer is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. King doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Beer.

King makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from King.

King shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Beer napping and manages to drive through into side control!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from King is defended easily by Beer.
Beer slaps away a takedown attempt from King, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Beer.
King is looking to reverse the position.

Beer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Beer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Beer avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Beer controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

We're going to have a standup here because Chris Beer wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
King shoots and misses

and Beer holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Beer is trying to work for a single leg takedown but King pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Beer jumps guard but King stands there with Beer around his waist. Beer gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

King tries a body shot but Beer blocks it.

Beer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

King throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Beer tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. King is in Beer's guard.
King advances to half guard.
King is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
King pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

King moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Beer has worked his arm free - good work by Beer!

Beer is pushing King's head away, looking to escape. King manages to hold on to the position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Chris Beer will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Beer keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Beer looking to land some kicks to the body here.

and Beer counters with a nice uppercut.

Beer is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so King is just riding it out for now. Beer eventually gives up the hold.
King takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

King is refusing to be controlled, as Beer sits in half guard.
Beer throwing shots but King is blocking nicely.
Beer landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Beer in particular looking to stall.

King wants to control but Beer is keeping busy and won't allow it.
King wants to get back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Chris Beer just wasn't active enough.

King gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Beer to score an easy takedown into full guard.

King had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Beer defends it easily.

King has his foot on Beer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Beer works his way back into a safe position though.

King working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Beer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Beer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
