Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bob Esponja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Lightfoot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Esponja!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Lightfoot!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esponja closes the distance and clinches up with Lightfoot, looking for a takedown. Esponja pushes Lightfoot against the cage but Lightfoot circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Esponja is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Lightfoot is defending well.
Esponja goes for a takedown attempt but Lightfoot pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Esponja. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lightfoot wants to slow Esponja down by chopping away at his legs.
Lightfoot changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Esponja tries to avoid it but Lightfoot manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Esponja to the ground. Esponja escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bob Esponja.
Esponja shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lightfoot as he avoids it easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A close second round but Jimmy Lightfoot will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Esponja stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Esponja wants it to stay on the feet.
Lightfoot looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Esponja is fending him off so far but Lightfoot persists. Nope, Esponja circles away and we're back to standing.

Esponja feints and as Lightfoot raises his hands in defense, Esponja changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Lightfoot lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Esponja!

Lightfoot won't let Esponja get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Lightfoot takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Esponja is desperately trying to improve his position but Lightfoot has a good base and remains in mount.

Esponja pushes Lightfoot off looking to stand but Lightfoot dives back in and keeps control.

Lightfoot is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Esponja wants to sweep but no luck.

Esponja manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lightfoot manages to get himself to full guard.
Esponja pushes down on Lightfoot's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Lightfoot is refusing to be controlled, as Esponja sits in half guard.

Esponja lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Esponja thows a huge punch but Lightfoot dodges it nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lightfoot has a hand on Esponja's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Esponja takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
