The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pain looks for a takedown but Rafael sprawls well.
Rafael lands a nice hook to Pain's body. Pain takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Pain closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rafael circles away.
Rafael misses with a takedown attempt - Pain sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Rafael working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Pain's head.
Rafael sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pain's guard.
Pain is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rafael's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rafael's back!
You can see the frustration on Rafael's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Pain looking to break Rafael's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Rafael remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Pain will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Pain is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Rafael defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Pain has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Rafael! Can he survive? No! He's out! Pain gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
