The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sykes tries a low kick but Gilbert avoids it.

Gilbert dives in and scores a takedown into Sykes's guard.

Gilbert drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Sykes dives on top into guard.

Sykes wants to get up but he can't break Gilbert's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Sykes is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Gilbert has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Sykes should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Gilbert has tightened it up now! Sykes should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
