The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neeson with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Kovalenko throws a nice looking combination but Neeson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kovalenko ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Neeson moves away.
Kovalenko throws out a loose jab but Neeson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Neeson blocks a head kick by Kovalenko.
Neeson lands a head shot.
Kovalenko takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Neeson scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Nikolai Kovalenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Neeson drops Kovalenko with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Kovalenko looks back up at him and smiles so Neeson waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

A bone on bone clash there as Kovalenko blocks the leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
No joy there for Kovalenko, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Neeson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kovalenko.
Kovalenko on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Neeson thuds a left hand into Kovalenko's body.
Neeson cracks the inside of Kovalenko's front leg.
Neeson missing with a left hand there. Kovalenko was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

and Kovalenko counters with a series of strikes. Neeson will be more careful next time no doubt.

Neeson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Kovalenko throws a looping overhand right but Neeson ducks down to avoid it.

Kovalenko thows a left - swing and a miss!
Kovalenko throws a right and a left that Neeson avoids nicely.
A nice leg kick lands there from Neeson.
Neeson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kovalenko's sensitive parts.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Neeson, right into the meat.
Neeson throws a low kick, looking for Kovalenko's leg but Kovalenko calmly moves out of range.
Kovalenko moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Kovalenko walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Kovalenko is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

and Neeson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Kovalenko is rocked!

Neeson closes the distance and clinches.

Neeson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Neeson lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Kovalenko falls backwards - clearly groggy! Neeson dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
