Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Thompan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Mac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott Thompan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Mac or perhaps it was just good defense by Thompan which made him look bad.
Mac avoids a kick to the body.
Thompan shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Mac counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mac.

Mac thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Mac stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thompan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mac stands and throws Thompan's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Mac working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Mac goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Thompan has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mac but great work by Thompan.

Thompan lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mac down.

Thompan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mac knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Thompan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mac, who protects the arm well.

Mac is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mac is looking to regain half guard here but Thompan keeps moving and retains side control.

Mac working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thompan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thompan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Thompan wants to pass the guard but Mac is keeping the position.

Mac has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thompan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mac has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Thompan doesn't defend quickly enough and Mac has managed to lock this one up! Can Thompan escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Mac on a fantastic submission victory.
