Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alan Thrace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harris Screwball (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Screwball chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Thrace can pounce on him.
Screwball moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Thrace throws an off balance right hand
and Screwball counters with a body kick that stops Thrace in his tracks momentarily.
Screwball steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Thrace.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Screwball ducks under a wild hook from Thrace.
Thrace misses the jab.
Screwball avoids a punch combination nicely.
Screwball shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Thrace sprawls well. Thrace wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Screwball gets slowly back to his feet.

Screwball jumps guard but Thrace turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Screwball has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Thrace is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Thrace breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Screwball - that will leave a mark!
Thrace throws a sloppy head kick and Screwball moves out of range easily.

Thrace misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Screwball.
Thrace throws out a powerful jab.
Thrace lands a jab to Screwball's midsection.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Thrace throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Thrace scores with the left hand. Screwball knows he should have avoided that one.
Thrace defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Screwball.
Alan Thrace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thrace misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Thrace scores with a nice head shot.
Thrace bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Screwball's head.

Thrace lands a left and a right that send Screwball crashing to the mat, dazed. Thrace thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Screwball is rocked!
Thrace sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Screwball's defenses. It connects perfectly with Screwball's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
