The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nabokov feints and as Theamazing raises his hands in defense, Nabokov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Nabokov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Theamazing swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Nabokov looking to sit in guard and control but Theamazing gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Theamazing avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Nabokov is looking for a triangle here but Theamazing uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Nabokov manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Theamazing stands up from half guard.
Theamazing cracks Nabokov with an open hand slap.

It looks like Igor Nabokov has been cut.

Nabokov takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Theamazing misses with a wild combination.
Theamazing shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Nabokov eats them both and turns towards Theamazing to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Theamazing wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Nabokov walks into a stiff left hand from Theamazing.

Theamazing moves into range and connects with a jab.
Nabokov gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Nabokov is rocked!

That has opened up Igor Nabokov's cut even more.
Theamazing tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Nabokov is able to avoid easily.

Theamazing throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Nabokov's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Theamazing dives in looking to finish as Nabokov flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Theamazing's strikes! Theamazing is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Nabokov's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Nabokov was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
