Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bret McKenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Braun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mario Braun was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Mario Braun!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Anthony Taglia and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKenzie connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Braun momentarily.
Braun misses with a takedown attempt - McKenzie sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
McKenzie thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Braun if he has to take too many more of those.
McKenzie lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Braun at a distance.
McKenzie misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McKenzie fails with an attempt to clinch.
Braun tries to score with a low kick but McKenzie moves his leg out of the way.

Braun distracts McKenzie with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Braun has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Braun stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McKenzie swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Braun breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McKenzie stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McKenzie wants it to stay on the feet.

Braun fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

McKenzie looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Braun's hands are dropping dangerously low here and McKenzie connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Braun scrambles back to his feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from McKenzie. Braun does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bret McKenzie is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

McKenzie throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Braun counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Braun tries a head kick but it misses.
McKenzie swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mario Braun seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McKenzie throws an overhand right that lands on Braun's shoulder, as Braun tries to avoid the shot.
McKenzie scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Braun shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McKenzie as he jumps to the side.
Braun shoots for a double leg takedown but McKenzie sprawls well. He's pushed Braun's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Braun looks winded!
Braun doesn't manage to clinch there - McKenzie circles away.
Braun moves out of range of the strikes.
Braun avoids the body shot from McKenzie.
McKenzie throws a sloppy head kick and Braun moves out of range easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
McKenzie misses with a hook. Braun ducked under it nicely.
McKenzie tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Braun paws at him with a jab and circles away.
McKenzie wants to clinch up but Braun keeps it at a distance.
McKenzie scores with a nice right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McKenzie cracks Braun with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Braun falls to his knees and McKenzie doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
