Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Diego Rogero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juscelino Goncalves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Juscelino Goncalves!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Alexandre Firmino and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goncalves shoots in looking for a takedown but Rogero manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Goncalves's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Rogero scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Rogero checks a leg kick.
Rogero is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.


It looks like Juscelino Goncalves has been cut.
Goncalves takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Rogero lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Left hook, right uppercut from Rogero.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rogero lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rogero.
Goncalves takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Goncalves has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rogero avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Rogero is looking to break free of the clinch but Goncalves has double underhooks.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Rogero is trying to break free.
Goncalves jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rogero walks away with a smile on his face. Goncalves gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Rogero moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Rogero fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Rogero misses with a jab, cross combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Juscelino Goncalves's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Rogero closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Rogero lands with a hook. Goncalves tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Rogero lands a two punch combo.
Goncalves shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rogero pinned against the cage. Rogero gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rogero looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rogero lands a nice leg kick that just misses Goncalves's sensitive parts.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rogero tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Goncalves manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Juscelino Goncalves's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Diego Rogero is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Rogero has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Goncalves is proving hard to escape from.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Goncalves shoots in but Rogero avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Diego Rogero is winning the standup battle so far.
Rogero is looking to clinch but Goncalves is avoiding it.
Rogero is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Goncalves can do to turn this around?
Rogero buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Rogero lands a nice shot to the body.
Rogero throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Rogero feints a jab promting Goncalves to slip. Rogero then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Goncalves slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Juscelino Goncalves's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Diego Rogero!
