The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Gracie gets caught flat footed, as Da Silva shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Gracie working for a triangle but Da Silva defends it easily.
Da Silva trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom.
Gracie is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Da Silva advances to half guard.
Da Silva trying to control from half guard but Gracie is working away.
Da Silva is taking a breather. Gracie says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Gracie looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Gracie wants to sweep but Da Silva has passed to side control!
Da Silva is working to tighten is grip on Gracie's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Gracie has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Da Silva is really squeezing tight and eventually Gracie passes out! Da Silva breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
