Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kosi Mazaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Siver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kosi Mazaki has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kosi Mazaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Siver!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mazaki swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Siver leaves Mazaki with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Mazaki fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Siver ducks under a wild hook from Mazaki.
Siver looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mazaki is fending him off so far but Siver persists. Nope, Mazaki circles away and we're back to standing.
Siver on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
No joy there for Mazaki, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mazaki cracks Siver with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Siver uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mazaki.
Mazaki throws a series of punches but Siver moves out of range.
Mazaki thows a left - swing and a miss!
Siver connects with the punch.
Siver tries to move into range but Mazaki moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A jab from Mazaki does it's job there.
Kosi Mazaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mazaki misses with a body shot.
Siver avoids the body shot from Mazaki.

Siver closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mazaki to the mat! Mazaki manages to get full guard.
Mazaki avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mazaki keeping full guard, as Siver tries to pass.
Mazaki looking for a sweep. Not yet Mazaki, not yet.
Siver wants to pass the guard but Mazaki is keeping the position.
Siver is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Siver must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Siver throws an elbow that misses. Mazaki uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Siver's guard. Nice move by Mazaki!
Mazaki won't allow Siver to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mazaki wants to control from the top but Siver keeps moving.
Siver looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mazaki is one step ahead there.

Siver is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mazaki defends well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mazaki is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Siver keeping moving, preventing Mazaki from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mazaki throws a big right hand that misses.
Mazaki landing with the ground and pound.
Mazaki passes Siver's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Mazaki trying to control the action but Siver is working from the bottom.
Mazaki not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Siver is trying to get back to full guard.
Mazaki is figuring out what he wants to do next.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mazaki not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Mazaki is keen to just control but Siver is a slippery customer.

Mazaki is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Siver wants to improve his position but Mazaki is controlling well.
Mazaki working over Siver with some ground and pound. Siver looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mazaki trying to control the action but Siver is working from the bottom.

Mazaki is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Siver is just riding it out for now. Mazaki eventually gives up the hold.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kosi Mazaki dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Siver ducks right into an uppercut from Mazaki.


It looks like James Siver has been cut.
Siver fails with a takedown attempt.
Mazaki throws a shot from downtown. Siver moves away and avoids it.
Mazaki looks to score with a jab to the body but Siver is just out of range.

Siver gets a double leg takedown into Mazaki's guard.
Siver trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kosi Mazaki overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Mazaki keeping moving, preventing Siver from controlling successfully.
Mazaki working a defensive guard here.
Mazaki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mazaki avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Mazaki is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Siver wants to control from the top but Mazaki keeps moving.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Mazaki lands a head shot.
Mazaki cracks Siver with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Nice combo by Mazaki! Oh, that's hurt him - Siver falls to the canvas and Mazaki follows him into side control.


Siver is rocked!

Mazaki sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Siver is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Siver is still in real trouble! Can Mazaki finish him?
Mazaki tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Mazaki scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Siver is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Mazaki can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kosi Mazaki!
