Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Murillomartins Martins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Lambert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Murillomartins Martins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Lambert!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martins stuffs the takedown.
Lambert avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Martins doesn't manage to clinch there - Lambert circles away.
Lambert shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Martins pinned against the cage. Martins gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Martins leaves Lambert with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Murillomartins Martins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Lambert.
Martins moves in looking to clinch but Lambert pushes him off.
Lambert misses with a takedown attempt - Martins sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Lambert shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Martins napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Lambert is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Martins's shoulder. That is not cool.
Lambert creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Martins sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Lambert wants to lay and pray for a moment but Martins keeps working.
Lambert moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Martins takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Martins might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lambert tries to move into full mount but can't pass Martins's legs.

Martins could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Martins takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lambert fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Lambert dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Lambert shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Martins is trying to defend but Lambert finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lambert throwing shots but Martins is blocking nicely.
Lambert seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Lambert prevents Martins from improving his position.
Lambert is looking to take a break and control but Martins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lambert has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Let's hope that Lambert has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Martins tries to clinch there but Lambert circles away.

Lambert shoots in but Martins avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Lambert closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Martins quickly recovers to half guard.
Lambert is keen to just control but Martins is a slippery customer.
Lambert works his way into side control.
Lambert staying calm.

Lambert looks up at the clock and then as Martins takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lambert smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
You can see the frustration on Martins's face as Lambert controls the position.

Lambert's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Lambert showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Martins displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lambert.

Lambert decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Robert Lambert wasn't active enough on the ground.
Lambert tries for a takedown but Martins sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Lambert shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lambert was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Robert Lambert comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lambert has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
