The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Magalhaes bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Cautter tries to buck Magalhaes off but Magalhaes is having none of it.

Magalhaes stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Magalhaes pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cautter scores with a head kick. Magalhaes tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

It looks like Vitor Magalhaes has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cautter lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Magalhaes closes the distance and clinches.
Magalhaes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Magalhaes is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Cautter to keep the fight standing.
Magalhaes drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cautter can't get the takedown.

Cautter pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Cautter swats away the attempt to clinch by Magalhaes.

Magalhaes looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Magalhaes decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Cautter gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Magalhaes counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cautter won't be happy with that.
Magalhaes is breathing heavily.

Magalhaes stands up.

Cautter cracks Magalhaes with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Cautter fails in his attempt to clinch.

Cautter tries for a takedown but Magalhaes circles away easily

and Magalhaes counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Cautter's guard now.

Cautter is trying to control the position but Magalhaes postures up.
Cautter looking to hit a scissor sweep but Magalhaes is one step ahead there.

Magalhaes closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Cautter shoots in for a takedown but Magalhaes shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Cautter gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Magalhaes is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Magalhaes takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cautter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Magalhaes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Magalhaes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Cautter tries to reverse the position but Magalhaes maintains control.
Vitor Magalhaes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Magalhaes manages to capitalize on a mistake by Cautter to take his back!

Magalhaes is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Cautter is tapping out! This one is all over!
