The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
JonesJr rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Impaler moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
JonesJr misses with a combination

and Impaler counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in JonesJr's guard now.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Impaler prevents JonesJr from getting back to his feet.
Impaler is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Impaler is pushing down on JonesJr's leg trying to pass to half guard. JonesJr is fighting to maintain full guard but Impaler has managed to sneak the leg through.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Impaler connects with a nice short shot to JonesJr's temple.

Impaler seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Impaler thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed JonesJr's head.
JonesJr is looking for a sweep. Impaler is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Impaler in particular looking to stall.

Impaler lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Impaler frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
JonesJr is in a horrible position here. Impaler smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Impaler looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has JonesJr covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
