Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Christopher Seamon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Al Bartlett!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Paul Gruel and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seamon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bartlett swivels and escapes.
Seamon with a lazy takedown attempt
and Bartlett counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Bartlett thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bartlett trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Bartlett keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Seamon's head.
Bartlett is in close to Seamon's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Bartlett has gone for a leg lock! Seamon slips out almost immediately though and dives into Bartlett's guard.
Seamon is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Bartlett has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Seamon is looking to defend but Bartlett has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Seamon! Bartlett pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Seamon taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Al Bartlett!
