Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Totoy Bayag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Faber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Totoy Bayag!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Frank Faber!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faber rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bayag moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bayag tries to close the distance and clinch up but Faber swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Faber closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Frank Faber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bayag is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Faber throws a predictable looking body shot
and Bayag counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Faber throws a combination that misses
and Bayag counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Faber moves into the clinch.

Faber manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Faber keeping moving, preventing Bayag from controlling successfully.
Bayag throwing strikes but missing.
Bayag stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Faber swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Faber avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bayag has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Faber is proving hard to escape from.
Bayag trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Faber manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Faber trying to control the position from guard on top but Bayag is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Faber stops Bayag from standing up.
Bayag has momentary wrist control but Faber slips an elbow through the middle.

Faber stands up from Bayag's guard - Faber perhaps looking for a knockout.
Faber falls off balance throwing a combination
and Bayag counters with a straight right hand.

Faber moves into range and clinches up with Bayag.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Faber has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Bayag regains guard immediately.
Faber throwing strikes from guard but Bayag blocks nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Faber preventing the sweep.
Bayag trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Bayag has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Faber wants to control from the top but Bayag keeps moving.

Faber gets to his feet. Bayag looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Faber looks winded!
Bayag wants to clinch up but Faber keeps it at a distance.
Bayag tries to close the distance and clinch up but Faber swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bayag bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Faber's head.
Faber throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bayag is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Faber shoots in and bounces Bayag off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Bayag is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Bayag thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bayag wants to stand up but Faber is controlling him.
Bayag tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Faber lands a couple of digs.
Faber stops Bayag from standing up.
Faber connects with a couple of short punches.
Faber pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bayag is keeping the position for now.
Bayag tries to strike from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bayag is looking to stand up but Faber isn't so interested in that idea.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Faber slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Bayag is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Faber is trying to get an arm triangle but Bayag is defending well.
Faber cracks Bayag with an elbow. That is naaassty.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bayag is looking to regain half guard here but Faber keeps moving and retains side control.
Faber scoring with punches and elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frank Faber dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Faber misses with a two punch combination.
Bayag tries to clinch there but Faber circles away.
Faber will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Faber swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Faber takes the fight into the clinch.
Faber prevents Bayag from breaking the clinch.

Faber has Bayag pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Faber pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bayag tumbling to the mat - Faber dives into Bayag's guard.
Bayag throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Bayag throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Bayag thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Faber connects with a couple of short punches.
Faber's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Bayag trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Frank Faber has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bayag is looking to stand up but Faber isn't so interested in that idea.

Bayag throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Bayag can't keep his opponent in guard - Faber advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Bayag trying to control but Faber postures up.
Bayag lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.
Bayag is looking to control Faber's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bayag avoid being mounted?
Faber seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bayag is looking for a sweep. Faber is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Faber wants to free his trapped foot but Bayag is holding on for dear life with his legs.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Faber passes the guard and advances to mount!
Faber is breathing heavily.
Faber avoids the attempt from Bayag to control.
Faber with good strikes from the mount here!
Faber scoring with strikes but Bayag is staying in there.
Bayag is working to get back to half guard.
Bayag is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Faber is working for a guillotine from mount but Bayag frees his head quite easily.
Faber punishing his opponent with strikes.
Bayag can't escape the position.
Faber unloading with bombs!


Bayag is rocked!
Faber lands a big shot there that rocks Bayag but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Oh Bayag is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bayag tries to lock up and control but Faber gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Faber! Bayag is hurt baaadly! Faber is firing away with more strikes - Bayag is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Faber!
An out of breath Frank Faber thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
