Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Takashi Yamamoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joshua Ferguson!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamamoto is looking to clinch but Ferguson is avoiding it.
Ferguson shoots for a takedown but Yamamoto saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ferguson misses with a takedown attempt - Yamamoto sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ferguson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Yamamoto misses with the combination.

Yamamoto drives through and clinches with Ferguson against the cage.
Ferguson is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Yamamoto is defending well.
Takashi Yamamoto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joshua Ferguson.

It looks like Joshua Ferguson has been cut.
Ferguson is pressed up against the cage. Yamamoto has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ferguson down to the mat. Ferguson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ferguson.
Yamamoto fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ferguson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Yamamoto.
Yamamoto keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Horrible takedown by Ferguson or perhaps it was just good defense by Yamamoto which made him look bad.

Yamamoto closes the distance but Ferguson moves to the side

and Ferguson counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Yamamoto!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ferguson tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Ferguson working the ground and pound but Yamamoto is defending the strikes.
Ferguson in side control lands a decent elbow.

Ferguson trying to control the action but Yamamoto is working from the bottom.
Ferguson moves into full mount!
Yamamoto tries to hold on but Ferguson postures up.
Yamamoto tries to reverse the position but Ferguson maintains control.
Yamamoto wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ferguson lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Ferguson lands a nice shot to the head.
Yamamoto can't escape the position.

Ferguson working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Yamamoto looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Ferguson! Submission of the night perhaps?
