PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duncan McAlister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaely Cullen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Duncan McAlister!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kaely Cullen!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cullen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. McAlister looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
McAlister ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Cullen moves away.
McAlister jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Cullen tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McAlister swivels and escapes.
McAlister on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Cullen. Cullen obviously looking to wear him down.
McAlister avoids a kick to the body.
Cullen moves out of range of the body kick from McAlister.
McAlister throws a hook but Cullen blocks it.
Cullen connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Kaely Cullen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cullen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in McAlister's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McAlister wants to sweep but no luck.
Cullen postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Cullen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McAlister is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cullen trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Cullen wants to pass the guard but McAlister is keeping the position.

McAlister working for a triangle but Cullen defends it easily.
Cullen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McAlister works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Cullen distracts McAlister with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
McAlister looking to control.
McAlister will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cullen landing some decent shots from guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cullen passes McAlister's left leg - he's now in half guard.
McAlister keeping control of the position.
McAlister won't allow Cullen to pass to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cullen looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Cullen lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
McAlister blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cullen.
Cullen prevents McAlister from improving his position.
Cullen scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cullen lands with a punch from half guard.
McAlister wants to improve his position but Cullen is controlling well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cullen thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McAlister's head.
Cullen throwing shots but McAlister is blocking nicely.
Cullen is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Cullen lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt McAlister quite badly. McAlister pulls Cullen in close trying to recover. Cullen postures up and lands two really hard shots that put McAlister on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but McAlister doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kaely Cullen!
Kaely Cullen managed to slip a mention for his sponsors, Hell's Balls Recovery (160), into his post fight interview.
