Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ivan Heaslip!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Massive Storm!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Heaslip gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Storm tries to score a body lock takedown but Heaslip shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Heaslip has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Storm regains guard immediately.

Heaslip changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Storm tries to avoid it but Heaslip manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Storm to the ground. Storm escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Heaslip instigates a clinch.

Heaslip has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Storm is trying to keep an underhook but Heaslip manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Storm is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Heaslip pulls his head out easily.

Storm looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Heaslip pushes past his half guard into mount!

Heaslip tries to control but Storm wriggling away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Heaslip tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Storm tries to lock up and control but Heaslip gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Storm is trying desperately to improve position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Heaslip tries to control but Storm wriggling away.

Heaslip seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Storm for as long as he can get away with.
Storm is squirming around, avoiding Heaslip's attempts to control the action.
Storm tries to reverse the position but Heaslip maintains control.
Ivan Heaslip overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ivan Heaslip has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

and Storm counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Heaslip!
Storm landing strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Storm looks up at the clock and then as Heaslip takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Storm smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Storm is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Heaslip is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Heaslip is trying to improve his position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
You can see the frustration on Heaslip's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ivan Heaslip will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Storm gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Storm wants to sweep here but Heaslip controlling him for the moment.
Heaslip is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Storm had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Heaslip defends it easily.
Storm takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Heaslip slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Storm is looking to reverse the position.
Heaslip is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ivan Heaslip just wasn't active enough.

Heaslip darts in and clinches Storm up against the cage.
Storm is pressed up against the cage. Heaslip has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Storm down to the mat. Storm avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Heaslip fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Storm avoids it really well and circles away.
This has been an exciting period of action!
No luck for Heaslip with that takedown attempt.

Storm leaves Heaslip with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Storm keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Heaslip tries to clinch but Storm is having none of it.
Heaslip looks for a takedown but Storm sprawls well.
Heaslip shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Storm as he avoids it easily.
Heaslip throws a body kick that misses.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ivan Heaslip showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Heaslip has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
