The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie slips under a jab.
Gracie connects with a looping right hand.

and Distacio counters with a nice uppercut.
Distacio takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with Distacio, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes Distacio against the cage but Distacio circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Distacio throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gracie stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Distacio throws a series of punches but Gracie avoids them all with ease.

Distacio is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

and Distacio counters with a good, hard body kick but Gracie shrugs it off.

Gracie needs to keep his hands up - Distacio had a free shot at his head there.
Gracie throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Distacio lands a big head kick that sends Gracie tumbling to the mat! Distacio takes a step backwards and waves Gracie back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oh Gracie is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gracie is defended easily by Distacio.

Distacio buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Gracie is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Gracie moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Gracie tries to work over Distacio's front leg with a kick but Distacio checks it.

Distacio connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Distacio sends Gracie crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Distacio is motioning to the referee to let Gracie up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Distacio pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gracie on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Gracie looks to land a body kick but Distacio moved away.
Distacio fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gracie has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Distacio lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
