And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lyoto Machida!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Son throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Machida's waist but Machida gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Son off to one side.

Son shoots for a double leg takedown but Machida sprawls well. He's pushed Son's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Machida has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Machida there as he acknowledges the shot.
Son lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Son here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

I would just about give that final round to Lyoto Machida.
Well Son has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
