The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuensami closes the distance and clinches up with Smithson, looking for a takedown. Kuensami pushes Smithson against the cage but Smithson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kuensami avoids the head kick by Smithson.

Smithson moves into the clinch.
Smithson trying to stall but Kuensami improves his position.

Smithson manages to break the clinch.

Kuensami has closed the distance and engaged Smithson in a clinch.
Kuensami drops down looking for an ankle pick but Smithson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kuensami fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kuensami Kuensami. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kuensami shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smithson as he avoids it easily.
Smithson scoring well with a low kick there.
Greg Smithson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kuensami shoots in but no luck this time.
Kuensami swats away the attempt to clinch by Smithson.
Kuensami closes the distance and clinches up with Smithson, looking for a takedown. Kuensami pushes Smithson against the cage but Smithson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kuensami is breathing heavily.
Kuensami shoots for a double leg takedown but Smithson sprawls well. He's pushed Kuensami's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Smithson throws a head kick but Kuensami moves out of range.

Kuensami drops down looking for an ankle pick but Smithson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Smithson throws a sloppy head kick and Kuensami moves out of range easily.

A slapping leg kick lands for Smithson.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Smithson throws a powerful right kick. Kuensami tried to block low but the kick was high! Kuensami was taken right off of his feet! Smithson jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

In his post fight interview, Greg Smithson started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
