Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jutta Urpilainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitchell Pearsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Urpilainen comes to the cage accompanied by A Boy Named Sue by Johnny Cash. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mitchell Pearsen!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Urpilainen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Urpilainen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Urpilainen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pearsen's waist but Pearsen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Urpilainen off to one side.

Pearsen throws his legs up looking for a submission but Urpilainen uses it to pass to side control.

Urpilainen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pearsen takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Urpilainen winds up and cracks Pearsen with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Urpilainen is just content to waste time from the top position. Pearsen takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Jutta Urpilainen will probably get the nod.

Urpilainen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Urpilainen wants to pass the guard but Pearsen is defending well.

Urpilainen looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pearsen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Urpilainen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pearsen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Urpilainen has managed to get both his arms back between Pearsen's legs - danger averted.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Urpilainen is keen to just control but Pearsen is a slippery customer.
Urpilainen wants to pass the guard but Pearsen is defending well.

Jutta Urpilainen showed his dominance in that final round.
