Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Parachute Man!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dean Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Man shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Man might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Thomas preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Man throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Thomas works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Man won't allow Thomas to get back to his feet.
Man postures up in Thomas's guard and throws a big left but Thomas blocks it.
Man sitting in guard here, content to control.
Man stopping the sweep attempt from Thomas.
Man postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Man throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Man controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Man is looking to work some ground and pound but Thomas has wrist control.

Man lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Man landing some decent shots from guard.
Man works over Thomas with some ground and pound from guard.
Man loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Thomas lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Man!
Man is wriggling around trying to escape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Man wants to control but Thomas is having none of it.
Man on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Man tries to get out of the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Man is squirming around, avoiding Thomas's attempts to control the action.
Man regains half guard.
Man is holding on to half guard well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Parachute Man just wasn't active enough.
A nice leg kick lands there from Thomas.

Man closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Man lands in his opponent's guard.
Thomas wants to stand and escape but Man is having none of it.
Man postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Man trying to control but Thomas is working from the bottom.
Thomas trying to keep a closed guard but Man is proving a slippery customer.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Thomas is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Man is controlling him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Parachute Man dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Man takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
A head kick misses from Thomas.

Thomas scores with a spinning back kick!
Thomas moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Thomas lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Man fails with the takedown.
Man shoots for a takedown but Thomas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Man drives through with a takedown into Thomas's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Man has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Thomas is looking to stand up but Man isn't so interested in that idea.
Man throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Man stops Thomas from standing up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Thomas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Man trying to control the position from guard on top but Thomas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Man throws a strike but Thomas rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Parachute Man overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Thomas trying to control but Man is working from the bottom.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Parachute Man.
Man avoids the head kick by Thomas.
Thomas connects with a solid leg kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Man shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Man was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Man creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Thomas sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Man lands a decent elbow from side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thomas on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Man fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Thomas takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Man lands some shots froms side control.
Thomas dodges the ground and pound from Man.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Thomas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Man scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Thomas to see if he's OK.
Man in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Thomas is rocked!
Man in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Thomas looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Man turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Parachute Man!
Parachute Man is the new welterweight champion!
After winning the bout, Parachute Man thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
