The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leach fails to land with a series of punches.
Carlton Leach seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gunderson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Leach swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gunderson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Leach as he jumps to the side.
Good shot there by Leach.
Leach fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gunderson manages to avoid it.
Leach goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Leach tries to clinch but Gunderson moves out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Leach is defended easily by Gunderson.
Some wild striking there from Leach.
Leach throws a series of punches but Gunderson avoids them all with ease.
Gunderson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gunderson wants it to stay on the feet.

Leach is defending well against a takedown attempt.
A frustrated look appears on Leach's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Gunderson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Leach is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Leach does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gunderson has gone for a leg lock! Leach slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gunderson's guard.
Leach wanted to stand there but Gunderson had control of the position.

Gunderson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Leach defends well.
Leach knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gunderson on the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gunderson has his foot on Leach's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Leach works his way back into a safe position though.

Leach looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Gunderson has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Leach. Oh but Gunderson has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Leach goes limp - he's gone! Gunderson jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
