Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jose Marti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are John Roberts, John Kavanagh and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marti moves into the clinch.
Cannon is pressed up against the cage. Marti has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cannon down to the mat. Cannon avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Cannon darts in and clinches Marti up against the cage.
Cannon tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Cannon is looking to break free of the clinch but Marti has double underhooks.
Marti is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Cannon gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Marti tries to get to full guard but Cannon has control of the leg.

Marti is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Cannon is controlling him well.
Cannon is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Marti has escaped the position, nice work there.
Marti prevents Cannon from improving position.

Marti is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Cannon off and has taken his back!
Marti is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Marti escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cannon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Marti tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Cannon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Marti counters with a left to the body.

Cannon keeps the fight on the outside.
Cannon tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Marti paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Cannon buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Marti ducks under a wild hook from Cannon.
Cannon lands a right hook to the body.
Marti tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cannon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Marti somewhat.

and Marti counters with a series of strikes. Cannon will be more careful next time no doubt.

Cannon just misses with a punch to the body.
Marti uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cannon.
Marti is trying hard to land a takedown here. Cannon sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Marti has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Cannon finds it's way round the side to connect with Marti's head.

James Cannon seems to be getting the better of the standup.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Marti closes the distance but Cannon moves to the side
and Cannon counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Marti thinking.
The fight stays on the outside here - Cannon looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Cannon swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Marti.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

James Cannon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Cannon dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Marti. That did some damage!

James Cannon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cannon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
