Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bo Lawal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Sullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bo Lawal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Christopher Sullivan!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sullivan stuffs the takedown.

Lawal throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Sullivan was covering up waiting for the punch and Lawal finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Sullivan looking for a guillotine here but Lawal defends easily.
Lawal trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Lawal throws a big elbow that misses.

Lawal distracts Sullivan with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Sullivan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Lawal throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Sullivan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lawal gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Lawal lands a couple of elbows.
Lawal won't allow Sullivan to sweep him here.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Sullivan utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lawal postures up in Sullivan's guard and throws a big left but Sullivan blocks it.
Lawal throws a strike but Sullivan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Lawal is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Sullivan defends well.

Lawal is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Sullivan trying to control the position from guard on top but Lawal is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Lawal escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sullivan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lawal throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Sullivan escapes and throws Lawal's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Lawal manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Lawal throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Lawal missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Lawal connects with a nice short shot to Sullivan's temple.
Sullivan wants to get back to his feet.
Sullivan has hold of Lawal's hands but Lawal slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lawal looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Sullivan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Sullivan regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Lawal.
Lawal throws an elbow that misses. Sullivan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lawal's guard. Nice move by Sullivan!

Lawal is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lawal escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sullivan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Lawal working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Sullivan has passed into half guard!

Sullivan seems to be working for a kimura but Lawal defends the submission attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sullivan wants to finish this one by submission but Lawal is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Sullivan.

Lawal working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sullivan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Lawal is tightening it up a little... Sullivan has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Sullivan reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Sullivan taps out! Nice BJJ there by Lawal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Bo Lawal!
Post fight, Bo Lawal stared into the camera and said 'New Champion of Fallen Champions. I did my country South Africa proud and its time for all to bow down to me your king of South Africa hahahahahahahahahahah!!!!'.
