Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nick Hoenich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hoenich might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Gibberish. Nick Hoenich looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mendes looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Hoenich can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mendes controls the pace.
Mendes is pushing down on Hoenich's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hoenich is fighting to maintain full guard but Mendes has managed to sneak the leg through.
Mendes takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Let's hope that Mendes has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
