Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Connor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jon Jones!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Radbod Blank and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a right and a left that Connor avoids nicely.
Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jones blocks a head kick by Connor.
Jones scores with a three punch combo!
Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Connor.
Connor blocks the body kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jones.
Jones misses the jab.
Jones misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jones throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Connor dodges the punch combination from Jones.
Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Connor moves out of range easily.
Jones misses with a few strikes there.
Jones lands a jab to the nose.
Jon Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Connor counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Connor works over Jones with some ground and pound from guard.
Connor cracks Jones with a solid left hand.
Connor stands and throws Jones's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Jones tries to bench press Connor off him but Connor keeps the position.
Jones takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Check out the look on Connor's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Jones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Connor wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Jones takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Connor tries for a kimura but Jones is defending well.

Jones tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Jones manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Connor working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jones works his way to full guard. Good work.
Connor makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Jones looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Connor distracts Jones with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Connor might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Jones is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Jones is looking to sweep but instead, Connor has passed into half guard.
Jones is staying active underneath Connor, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Connor knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.

Jones will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Connor's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Connor defends well.
Jones is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Connor is controlling him.

Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Connor doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Connor manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones keeping moving, preventing Connor from controlling successfully.

Jones looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Connor dodges the punch combination from Jones.

Connor shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Connor defends it easily.
Jones has momentary wrist control but Connor slips an elbow through the middle.

Connor avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Connor gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Jones throws a head kick but Connor moves out of range.
Connor tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jones misses with a body kick.

Good work by Connor as he checks the leg kick.
Connor shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jones as he jumps to the side.
Connor wants to clinch.

Connor shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Connor is looking to take a break and control but Jones is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Connor is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Connor to get the leverage.
Jones is looking to improve his position.

Connor is taking a breather. Jones says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Jones is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Connor pulls his head out easily.
Jones pushes Connor off looking to stand but Connor dives back in and keeps control.

Jones slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Connor lands a couple of digs.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Connor's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
John Connor overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Connor is one step ahead there.
Connor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Connor gets to his feet - Jones follows without any prompting.

Connor fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jones sprawls well initially but Connor persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Connor is trying to control. Jones wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Jones wants to get back to his feet.
Jones misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Jones wants to improve his position but Connor is controlling well.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jones is pressing down on Connor's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Jones wants to hit a switch here but Connor passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Jones there!
Connor lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jones hang on?
Jones keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Jones is not content to let Connor control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Connor dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Jones displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Connor.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Connor showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jones.
Jones connects with a nice looking jab.
Jones loads up on a big right hand but Connor slips the punch.
Connor circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Jones drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Connor follows Jones to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Connor!
