The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pope cracks the inside of McDougle's front leg.
McDougle shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Pope tried to score with a low kick but McDougle checks it.
Pope ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
McDougle is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pope sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Pope swings for the body but McDougle moves out of range.
Pope misses with a series of wild punches.

McDougle is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pope fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

McDougle drives through and clinches with Pope against the cage.

Pope turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Pope manages to end up in side control.
McDougle takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Pope cracks McDougle with a big right hand but McDougle just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Pope creates some space and throws a big elbow, but McDougle sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
McDougle tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pope wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

McDougle tries to buck Pope off but Pope is having none of it.
