The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw feints and as Gabriel raises his hands in defense, Shaw changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Gabriel looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Gabriel is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Shaw passes into half guard.
Shaw is looking for submissions but instead, Gabriel has regained full guard.
Shaw knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gabriel on the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Shaw trying to control the position from guard on top but Gabriel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Shaw is looking to stand up but Gabriel won't let him.
Shaw is fighting to break Gabriel's control of his arms but Gabriel is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Gabriel is on top in guard.

Gabriel quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Shaw has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Gabriel celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
