Thomas has chosen Get Up and Dance by Jan Thomas as his entrance music. Cloud Strife could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jan Thomas's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Strife tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
No luck for Thomas with that takedown attempt.

Thomas shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Strife wants to control but Thomas is keeping busy.
Thomas seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Strife is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Thomas scores with a couple of nice shots.
Thomas looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Strife with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Thomas thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Strife's head.
Strife makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Strife.

Strife drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Strife jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Thomas lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Strife!
Strife is desperately trying to improve his position but Thomas has a good base and remains in mount.
Thomas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Thomas is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Strife can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Strife takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Thomas lands a big elbow.
The referee warns Strife that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Strife is bucking up trying to escape but Thomas cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Strife slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Thomas looks gassed!
Strife wants to improve his position but Thomas is controlling well.

Strife is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Thomas's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Thomas's back!
Thomas turns into Strife and is now in his guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Strife had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Thomas is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Strife Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Thomas's back instead.

Strife has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Thomas has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Strife's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Strife keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Thomas shoots in looking for a takedown. Strife tries to sprawl out of it but Thomas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Strife manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Cloud Strife has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Thomas.

Strife working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thomas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thomas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Thomas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Strife has his foot on Thomas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thomas works his way back into a safe position though.

Oh but Strife is tightening it up a little... Thomas has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Thomas reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Thomas taps out! nice BJJ there by Strife!
