PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dee Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Katsuji Rikidozan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pain comes into the arena with AC/DC - If you want Blood (You've got it) blaring out of the sound system. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dee Pain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Katsuji Rikidozan!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pain throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rikidozan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Pain lands a nice looking kick to the body. Rikidozan takes a step back to recover.
Pain lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!


It looks like Katsuji Rikidozan has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Pain throws a chopping leg kick but Rikidozan manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Rikidozan connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Pain momentarily.
Katsuji Rikidozan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pain uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rikidozan.
Pain is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pain blocks a leg kick.
Pain misses with a body kick.
Rikidozan tests Pain's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Pain lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Pain blocks the body kick.

Nice sprawl there from Rikidozan as Pain shoots in.

Pain fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Pain throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Rikidozan misses with a head kick.
Rikidozan fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rikidozan smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Pain displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Rikidozan throws out the jab.

Pain throws a low kick but Rikidozan avoids it.
Rikidozan fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Rikidozan throws a leg kick but Pain sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Pain slips under a jab from Rikidozan.
Rikidozan ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pain moves away.
Nice defenses there by Pain.
Rikidozan looks to score with a jab to the body but Pain is just out of range.
Rikidozan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Pain.
Katsuji Rikidozan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rikidozan listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Rikidozan throws a sloppy head kick and Pain moves out of range easily.
Rikidozan moves out of range of the body kick.
Pain fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dee Pain. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pain lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rikidozan's sensitive parts.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rikidozan throws the kick towards the body but Pain avoids it.
A big left from Pain misses.
Pain takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Pain looks for a takedown but Rikidozan sprawls well.
Rikidozan scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Pain checks a low kick from Rikidozan.
Rikidozan cracks Pain with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Rikidozan ducks right into an uppercut from Pain.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rikidozan shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Rikidozan throws a shot from downtown. Pain moves away and avoids it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pain shoots in looking for a takedown. Rikidozan tries to sprawl out of it but Pain keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rikidozan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Pain takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Pain takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Rikidozan is looking to clinch.
Pain misses with a leg kick

and Rikidozan counters by clinching up.

Rikidozan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rikidozan jabs Pain right on the nose. Pain blinks but takes it well.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Pain avoids the body shot from Rikidozan.
Rikidozan missing with a left hand there. Pain was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Pain walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Katsuji Rikidozan dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Rikidozan takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Pain. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Rikidozan circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Pain drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Rikidozan follows Pain to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Katsuji Rikidozan!
Our winner, Katsuji Rikidozan, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
