PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seth Taylor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liddell comes into the arena with It's Dark and Hell Is Hot blaring out of the sound system. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chuck Liddell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Seth Taylor!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good leg kick by Liddell there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Liddell shoots in and bounces Taylor off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Liddell pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Taylor is keeping the position for now.
Taylor is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Liddell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Taylor swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Taylor is looking for a triangle but Liddell pushes his legs off easily.

Liddell slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Chuck Liddell wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A nice leg kick lands there from Liddell.

Liddell clinches up against the cage.
Taylor drops down looking for an ankle pick but Liddell pulls his leg out and moves away.
Taylor looks winded!
Liddell keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Taylor gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Taylor fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Chuck Liddell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Seth Taylor.

Liddell has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Taylor clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Liddell is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Liddell is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Taylor defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Liddell is persistently looking for the submission but Taylor is defending it well.

I really don't envy Taylor right now.
Taylor is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Taylor wants to control his opponent's hands but Liddell gets his hands free.
Liddell keeps control of the position easily here as Taylor tries to buck him off.
Taylor is really stuck here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
